Advancing Inclusive Healthcare for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

December 6, 2024 Digital Conference and Accompanying Webinars

Register

Through a series of digital events, we're bringing together our national network of partners to re-imagine the delivery of equitable healthcare for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Canada.

Learn how to implement clinical tools into practice such as tip sheets, point-of-care forms, and monitoring charts. Together, we can increase preventative care action on screening, immunizations, medication reviews, and more to provide the highest standards of care for people with IDD.

Beginning with the digital conference on December 6, 2024, we’ll share our learnings and chart our next steps. Thought-provoking conversations focusing on approaches to care, mental health, and physical health will shine a spotlight on the application of our clinical practice guidelines and tools. This will set the stage for two webinars (optional) to follow, where we’ll strategize how we can optimize care by removing existing barriers and implementing best practices.

Through knowledge-sharing and discussion, we aim to further promote inclusion in decision-making, implement clinical practice guidelines and tools, and support our community of professionals who are leading inclusive healthcare for people with IDD. We warmly invite you to join us.

We welcome participation from:

  • primary care providers (physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals)
  • self-advocates
  • families, caregivers, and supporters
  • developmental support professionals

Conference Highlights

  • 9 presentations diving into specific clinical tools and their applications in practice

  • 2 keynote sessions highlighting current guidelines of care for people with IDD and future directions to support health equity

  • 2 small group, breakout sessions focusing on emerging issues and strategic change
